Recovery Hub needs maintainers.

Recovery Hub is a free, open-source case-management tool for parents dealing with international child-abduction cases. Roughly 20–25 parents use it in a typical month.

The Hub helped two parents during cases that ended with their children home. The parents did the work; the Hub was one tool among many, not the sole cause of either outcome. I am not publishing any details about the families.

The small number of cases creates weak commercial incentives, even though the burden on each affected child and parent is enormous.

What Recovery Hub does

Parents can use it to:

AI output is a draft. Parents still need to verify it with qualified professionals and authoritative sources.

How the data works

The Hub is local-first, not local-only. Core case data and uploaded files are stored in the browser by default. AI features send the information or documents a parent chooses to analyze to Gemini. Signing in syncs some structured records to Firebase. Campaign pages publish the information a parent chooses to make public. Usage analytics are enabled.

Those boundaries need clearer documentation, stronger tests, and a proper privacy and security review.

What needs maintaining

I am looking for engineers who can take responsibility for defined parts of the project:

This is not a request to work on individual family cases. It is a request to maintain the software parents use to manage their own work.

Run the live application. Read the public GitHub repository. Clone it and use synthetic data. If you can own one part of it, open an issue and say what you can maintain.

Do not put case details, documents, or identifying information in a public GitHub issue.
